About this E-Course

Goodness knows, there are enough things wrong with our world that, if we’re not watching, can dominate our thinking. Before we know it, we feel tired, frustrated, and start to see the world from a place of fear, scarcity, and lack of hope. Unfortunately, the effects of focusing on what’s wrong with the world doesn’t just stay inside of us, it can spill out at home, at work, and in our relationships with others. Life is too short for that to be our daily reality.

There’s another way.

The intention of this course, The Habit of Celebration, is to help us strengthen our ability to see the world in ways that fill us with joy, gratitude, and energy. At your own pace, you’ll explore 18 days of stories, insights, and daily activities to help you create a new habit of seeing through a lens of celebration.

Each module will begin with a story from Dewitt, who spent twenty years collecting these stories while traveling the globe as a National Geographic Photographer. His insightful, much-loved stories will set the stage for the focus of each session. You'll have the option of listening to his stories by audio, reading the transcript, or both. Following each of Dewitt's stories I'll be your host. My name is Lauri Gwilt, and Dewitt has been a hero of mine for more than twenty years, and it's been my privilege to work with Dewitt and the Celebrate movement since 2010. My job will be to guide you through the Overview and Action Steps for each module. These sections have been designed to build on Dewitt's stories, and help you explore each topic with a little more depth, as it relates to your world.

With practice, seeing the extraordinary all around you will become your new normal. Again, it doesn’t mean we turn a blind eye to what’s wrong, but when the good things dominate our thinking, it fills us with energy – maybe even enough energy to fix what’s wrong. At the very least, it’s a much more enjoyable way to see the world.
